Women's History Month

Admission: Programs FREE with museum admission

Throughout March, visitors to the Center can participate in a variety of events in honor of Women’s History Month. Participate in an array of activities including the new program Decoding the Lyrics: “Bad Romance: Women’s Suffrage,” which uses a hit pop song to tell the story of women’s suffrage. Then, take a self-guided tour of the Center’s main exhibition, The Story of We the People, which highlights defining moments in women’s history. Artifact highlights include a judicial robe worn by retired Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor and a collection of artifacts from Susan B. Anthony and the movement for women’s suffrage.

$14 per person (includes museum admission)
The Women in History Show celebrates extraordinary American women who fought for freedom and equality, including Deborah Sampson, Dolley Madison, Sojourner Truth, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and Susan B. Anthony. Through an interactive, “Guess Who?”-style game (and even some costumes to try on!), the show explores the changing roles of women throughout American history with a special emphasis on the passage of the 19th Amendment. Students will also join in a guided tour of the Center’s main exhibition that highlights the achievements of American women. Teachers will receive pre- and post-lesson plans.

You can also bring the Women in History Show to your school through our Traveling History and Civics Program.  For more information, call Group Sales at 215.409.6800.
