Unleashing Positive Energy: The Power of Giving

In order to be a completely fulfilled human being, we need a huge amount of positive energy that we can use to create wonderful relationships and a free heart. Buddha explained that the main cause of free, positive energy in the mind is giving.

On this special day, we will expand our understanding of what it means to give and understand the tremendous benefits of generosity for ourselves and others. Giving is the main cause of wealth, both material and emotional. For this reason, it is often emphasized as the main practice for a being bound for enlightenment.

Another major aspect of the practice of giving is the practice of giving fearlessness, which is showing a courageous, open-hearted way of living in the world focused on the welfare of all living beings. This lifestyle is called the Bodhisattva’s way of life, and we will receive special teachings on the practice of giving from The Guide to the Bodhisattva’s Way of Life.

Each session builds upon the previous one. It is encouraged to attend all sessions.

Gen Tenzin is a Buddhist monk of over 20 years and has taught Kadampa Buddhism extensively for over 21 years throughout the United States. As a senior Kadampa student and teacher, he is a close disciple of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.As the Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Center Philadelphia, Gen Tenzin teaches Teacher Training Program, Foundation Program, General Program classes, day courses, and leads retreats.
