Try Coding Back End MAY 16-17 Evenings

Schedule:

  • Wednesday May 16th: 6pm-9pm

  • Thursday May 17th: 6pm-9pm

Introduction

Are you interested in learning how to code, but not sure if it's right for you?

Try Coding Evenings is a two-evening program from the Turing School that will expose you to the basics of the Back-End Engineering aspect of computer programming.

Schedule:
Wednesday - 6-9pm
Thursday - 6-9pm

Curriculum

In two evenings, you'll learn the basics of Ruby—a popular programming language for building web applications and writing back-end code.

We'll cover how to navigate around your computer using the terminal, read and write files, and write your own command line applications. By the end of the second day, you'll have built your very own program to post tweets and read timelines from Twitter.

Throughout the course, you'll also learn about our community and culture, mission and values.

Light dinner will be served each evening.

Takeaways

You'll have an opportunity to show off work that you're proud of. You'll also receive helpful feedback on how to improve your code from our instructors.

After Event

If you complete the two-day course and decide to apply to Turing School, you'll be able to find a time that works for you and interview right away, within 5 days of attending.

You'll also receive $500 off the cost of your tuition if you're accepted.
