The Skin I'm In written by Basil Rojas and performed by Cecilia Eligio.
The show follows a young woman through her day as she peels away the layers of herself in a narcotics anonymous meeting and then in her therapy session where she learns to deal with grief, abuse and loss.
Cecilia Eligio is a first generation, Mexican American actress. Born and raised in Washington, Georgia, she became involved with theatre at the age of seven and since then, has never looked back. Cecilia went on to attend the Savannah College of Art and Design where she obtained her B.F.A. in Performing Arts and a minor in dance. There she was a part of many notable productions such as AN OCTOROON, THE WOLVES, and THE AMISH PROJECT. Having also apprenticed with the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, Cecilia has since relocated to the state of New Jersey looking to further her career — but in her free time, you can find Cecilia at the gym or at her local bar serving all your favorite foods and drinks.
Basil Rojas from Humacao, Puerto Rico was a production assistant for the productions Romeo and Juliet and The Jedi Papi Chulo and the Power Pansa (both at Teatro LATEA). When that production of Romeo and Juliet was revived, he was the Latin dance choreographer. He recently returned to choreography after a hiatus of twelve years to choreograph A.B. Lugo's Geneva also at Teatro LATEA. Most recently, he stage manager and assistant director the musical Is There Room in Your Heart? and the operetta La Llorona both at Teatro LATEA. Additional stage manager credits include Tango Fever, All About Meat (The Garcías) and The Golden Cacao Bean. As a director, he helmed Lailah Lancing's self-penned solo show WHaHaHappenWuz...and assistant directed Loren Escandón's award-winning self-penned solo show Montera. He was stage manager of Alice Childress’ “Wine in the Wilderness”directed by Courtney Harge. He wrote and directed the ONE Festival winning play “The Skin I’m In”.

Stage manager
Isabel Girona is a Boricua performance artist and creatrix from Bucks County, PA. She studied theater in Philadelphia at Temple University but has been performing since she was a child through voice , dance and acting. She has been a part of multiple experimental ensemble theater productions , Forever Midnight directed by the late Lee Richardson and I never saw another butterfly: the children of Terezin Directed By Kate Lagana. She also performed in a production through Philadelphia Young Playwrights: Basic Cable directed by Lee Ann Etzold, Temple University production of The Vagina Monologues and Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Most recently she had a leading role in the short film Aghast! Directed by Andreas Quiroga. Overall she loves to be a part of any aspect of story telling whether it’s on the stage , in front of the camera or behind the scenes! It’s all about connecting through the human condition. She is grateful to be a part of this production and honors the importance of telling stories about resilience in this wild world we live in.
Production Assistant
Connor Hough is an actor & filmmaker from Montgomery County, PA. He studied the Meisner technique under Tony Savant at Playhouse West Philadelphia Theater for two and a half years. He wrote, directed, acted in and edited his own film in 2018 called “Pennsylvania Guy Like Me” on a budget of zero dollars with just one small DSLR camera. This film was chosen for a public screening hosted by the Philadelphia Film Society at The Philadelphia Film Center. Connor also has appeared in multiple short films around the tri-state area and most recently had a supporting part in the film “The Associate,” written & directed by Mike Wenderlich. Connor is really excited to be a part of this theater experience and to support the voices of Latino artists!
