Teeny Conversation: Connecting in a Disconnected World

Connecting in a Disconnected World
In 2020 you stopped in-person programming and shifted what you could to virtual. While some of your audience followed, do you know what happened to the rest? As you plan to shift back to 'normal', will those that dropped off come back? In this session, we will discuss what retention has looked like for your organization during COVID-19 and what predictions we have for audiences returning. What actions can you take now to bring people back? Let's discuss.

What is a ‘teeny conversation’? Emily Taylor, Principal of teenyBIG, and Amy DeVita, President of TopNonprofits and Virtual Summit for Nonprofit Changemakers invite an intimate group of smart nonprofit leaders to virtually discuss a topic that is relevant to audience engagement challenges organizations are facing today. These conversations are limited in size (Only 20!) but open to all and bring the lens of Emily’s expertise in human-centered design.

Who should attend? This event is for those who lead small nonprofit organizations or play a marketing or communication role (and probably several roles) within their organization and want to build more passionate audiences.

ALSO: This discussion is intentionally small. Please reserve a ticket only if you intend to attend and participate. It will be summarized (referencing participants anonymously) and later published, potentially, in form of a podcast, blog post, or ebook for larger distribution to enable learning throughout the sector. Please contact Amy DeVita (Amy@TopNonprofits.com) with any general questions about the process or the event.

About your facilitator:

Emily Taylor, the principal of teenyBIG, is passionate about helping nonprofits find better ways to engage the people who matter to them. She guides teams in stepping outside of their day-to-day work in order to create stronger connections with their audiences, turning lackluster followers into enthusiastic supporters.

Emily teaches organizations how to apply human-centered design, a process that re-evaluates the experience of a product or service’s end-user. She designs and facilitates workshops to help teams understand and expand the user experience and offers coaching packages to further guide that process.

Emily’s approach in this area is based on her background working in nonprofit management and industrial design. In the private and nonprofit sectors, she has helped design user-focused campaigns on everything from bicycle safety and light-rail advocacy to community chambers. She has a bachelor’s degree in industrial design from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Emily serves on the board of the Association of Consultants to Nonprofits, where she helps lead the organization’s outreach to Chicago-area organizations.
