Mama Ninfa did more then lay a strong base for the Mexican restaurant industry in Texas with her famous Tacos Al Carbon. Ninfa became one of Houston's most beloved women, thanks to her values and commitment to giving back to society. She dedicated her life to helping and supporting the development of the citizenry, especially the Hispanic community in Houston's East End. She was instrumental in transforming it into the dynamic community that it is today.
Honoring her legacy of good deeds, The Ninfa Laurenzo Scholarship Fund (TNLSF) was created to help raise funds for students in dedication to empowering lifelong learning, advancing knowledge, and strengthening the lives of Houston residents.
