The Social Change Film Festival, now in its 6th year, was founded to leverage Chicago’s rich history of film, activism and philanthropy to shine a bright light on these critical, global issues and address them.

Social Change is a national non-profit that transforms lives, organizations and systems via film, community capacity building, technical assistance, advocacy, and legal representation.

#ChangeFest is coming this weekend with red carpet arrivals beginning this Friday (10/13) at 5pm at the Harold Washington Cultural Center on 4701 S Martin Luther King Dr, Chicago, IL.

#ChangeFest gives attendees the chance to join people from all over the world in celebrating our common humanity and:

  1. Be the first in Chicago to see 29 inspiring-and even life-changing-films from all over the world, including the world premieres of:

    • "Tanya" on opening night, an eye-opening film about sex-trafficking, fatherhood, adoption and more from first-time filmmaker Monica Raymund, who stars as Gabriela Dawson in NBC's drama "Chicago Fire."

    • "America; I too", a riveting film about exercising your rights as a American resident when confronted by the police, featuring Academy-Award nominated actor Barkhad Abdi (Captain Phillips).

    • "Slope of the Curve", a mind-blowing film about the future of labor in the world, featuring Anthony Anderson from ABC's hit-show"Black-Ish."
  1. Walk the Red Carpet with award-winning filmmakers, actors and leaders from across the world.

  2. Have fun attending receptions, discussing and actually doing something about topics of the day in the areas of hunger, poverty, women's rights, Middle East conflict, labor, justice reform, immigration, water access, developing nations, violence, foster care, addition and more with thinkers.
