SUNDAY SPIRITS: Spectacular Scotch

Burritt Room + Tavern hosts “Sunday Spirits”, a celebration of exceptional whiskeys, bourbons, and other spirits. On select Sundays, Burritt Room welcomes master distillers and experts to bring their rare releases and high-end bottlings to be enjoyed by aficionados and novices alike. With paired snacks and small plates, guests will enjoy a flight of showcase spirits and hear from experts on the process that makes them so exceptional. Specialty cocktails featuring the spirits will be available for purchase.

In our second Sunday Spirits celebration, we raise a glass to exceptional Scotch, with ultra-aged Alexander Murray & Co scotches, including our own Burritt Room Private Cask Single Malt. The showcased scotches include the Highland Single Malt, a 53-year old full-bodied Scotch finished in ex-sherry casks. Expert William Lipp will be on hand to discuss these notable spirits.

Available for sale will be custom Burritt Room branded barrel staves and tasting glasses. Guests who purchase the glass and bring it into Burritt Room on future dates will receive 25% off whiskey flights in 2017. While supplies last.

Alexander Murray & Co. Burritt Room Private Cask Glenallachie 12 Year Cask Strength
The youngest of the pours, this Scotch comes from Central Scotland, and is light in color, with fresh aromas of grass, stone, and herbal tea.

Alexander Murray & Co. - Bunnahabhain 28 Year Old Single Malt
Distilled in 1988, this spicy, fruity, and complex expression comes from Islay, one of the southernmost Scottish islands off the west coast and the Bunnahabhain distillery, founded in 1881.

Alexander Murray & Co. - Glenturret 34 Year Old Cask Strength
Alexander Murray & Co presents a fine expression of Highland single malt from Glenturret Distillery. Situated in Crieff, Perthshire, just off Loch Turret, Glenturret Distillery is one of the oldest – and smallest - in Scotland, officially producing whisky since 1775.

Alexander Murray & Co presents a fine expression of single malt from the Highland region in Scotland, with a rich raisin and leather aroma and full-body with notes of dried fruit and molasses. Matured in ex-bourbon casks, this single malt was finished in ex-sherry casks.
