Raw Music + Raw Wine

Raw Music + Raw Wine is back at Vino Carta for its third evening of matching natural wines to their local, stripped-down folk music counterparts. For this installment of the concert series, viticulture darlings (and husband-and-wife darlings), Jodie and Emily of J. Brix Wines (Escondido, CA) will be co-hosting the event. J. Brix will be pouring three signature varietals to match the original music of San Diego’s own Ezekiel Morphis and touring Nashville son, Bradford Loomis. J. Brix makes self-described “alive wines” that hail from “soulful CA vineyards”. There couldn’t be a better match for these two artists.

Since winemakers are the new rockstars, we are giving them the opening slot on the bill. The first wine will be paired with the winemakers themselves. Jodie and Emily will share their story of J. Brix wines—and the passion that got them to where they and the wines are now.

The second wine will be poured for local musician (not to mention Natural wine pro) Ezekiel Morphis. As the creator of Raw Music + Raw Wine, Morphis has been the cornerstone of these events, with his passion for both music and wine underscoring how an intimate, raw setting is perfect for both sensory experiences. The final wine will be poured for Nashville folk man, Bradford Loomis. Loomis is making this stop in San Diego while touring the country with his brand of Americana-folk. Loomis’ sound is as big as his stature, with his dulcet tenor and instantly hummable melodies only adding to the size of his sound. Listen to his latest here.
