You will walk away able to describe coffee using standard terms like body, mouthfeel, balance and acidity, as well as impress your friends with inspired flavor notes. You will train your palate to recognize subtle flavors in coffee by tasting:
- a raw flavor (for example, a peanut)
- an incorporated flavor (for example, a peanut butter donut)
- the flavor as referenced by a coffee (for example, our natural-processed Brazil)
This event is designed to teach you a bit about sensory evaluation of coffee and donuts. The senses are the way we communicate with the world outside ourselves-- we believe that the intentional pairing of food and beverage can lead to a profound experience of self-discovery!
About our donuts: Ipsento makes scratch made mini cake donuts in-house every day with unique ingredients like sweet potatoes and freshly-milled kamut; We also fry in organic, refined coconut oil! We Have six different donut toppings: cinnamon sugar, the ipsento (espresso/cayenne glaze with a honey drizzle and sprinkle of coconut flakes), lemon, chocolate, sprinkle and a rotating feature flavor! The feature flavor rotates on a weekly basis through the hard work of the donut team and staff-wide flavor suggestions.
