Ornament Help-Create Events

Vetro Glassblowing Studio and Gallery, located in historic downtown Grapevine, is “heating up” the holiday season with hand-blown glass ornament events on select dates beginning November 19 through December 31. Event participants can help create unique, one-of-a-kind holiday ornaments during interactive, fun and festive experiences that are ideal for the entire family. Deck the halls, dress the trees, and share the holiday cheer with handcrafted holiday ornaments this year. Back by popular demand, the Extreme Ornament Help-Create events allow participants to experience the ancient art of glass-blowing with a seasonal twist. Each participant then selects colors from the entire color palette of glass before applying the colors to the hot molten glass gather. The event participants (14 years and older) then reheat the glass color in Vetro’s 2,000 degree furnace before watching a professional glassblower form the ornament into a perfect keepsake or present. The cost is $50 (plus tax) for each hand-blown glass ornament created. Reservations are required for the Extreme Ornament Help-Create events and must be made in advance online. Vetro is also offering its Traditional Ornament Help-Create events, spontaneous seasonal excitement for drop-in participants. Since reservations are not required, the events operate on a first-come, first-serve basis. Participants choose colors from four pre-selected mixes and apply the colors to the hot molten glass gather before watching a professional glassblower finish the one-of-a-kind ornament.
