Join us for a History & Culture trip to Atlanta, GA in January 2019 to celebrate the 90th birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. (January 15, 1929). The highlight of our trip will be visits to the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site, which includes MLK’s boyhood home, the Ebenezer Baptist Church, the Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King tomb, and the King Center Museum/Visitor Center.
Our trip will take place during MLK weekend: Friday, January 18 - Monday, January 21, 2019. While in Atlanta there will be opportunities to visit many other noteworthy historical and cultural attractions. We also plan on visiting at minimum: the High Museum of Art, the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum, and the National Center for Civil and Human Rights.

Meet Locals and Travelers: While in Atlanta we’ll be joined by several local residents to get an “insiders” perspective, and of course there will be travelers attending from all over the U.S.
Schedule: This trip has a “buffet-style” schedule, meaning participants are free to arrive and depart whenever they like, and can attend any or all of the planned activities.
Travel & Lodging: Guests are responsible for their own transportation and lodging. Your event hosts, Robert and Michele, will be driving to Atlanta from Washington, DC and staying with friends. You are able to stay wherever you like. During our trip we’ll travel via walking, public transportation, and an occasional car service such as Lyft/Uber - a car rental is optional but not required. Refundable travel reservations and/or travel insurance is highly recommended.
Purpose: We’ve organized this “History & Culture” trip to help promote the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and we would love to have you join us. However, please note that we’re not a travel agency, nor will we act as one. We’ve provided all the details we currently have and will provide more information as it becomes available - via email and/or social media. If you’re a high maintenance traveler that requires a lot of hand-holding, then we recommend you instead participate in a formal tour organized through a paid travel agency that can better assist you such as AAA.
Disclaimer: Travelers will participate in this program at their own risk and we are not responsible for any claims. We recommend purchasing refundable tickets and/or travel insurance to avoid any issues.
