Set against a Los Angeles backdrop, a 20-something Puerto Rican transplant is stuck between the career his mother wants for him and his dream, being an actor. When a casting call, misadventures in millennial dating and society force him to confront the ultimate question; When the world typecasts you, who will you choose to be?
Director Edwin Alexis Gómez is a Nicaraguan-American writer, director, producer and actor. He is a co-founder of Cundina Collective a film company that champions an alternative cinematic culture. His directorial debut “Quédate Callado” won a Grand Jury Award at the 2018 Outfest Fusion Film Festival and is currently making its rounds via the festival circuit. His second short film "La Sad Boy" is an official selection of Outfest 2019 and is currently making its rounds via the festival circuit. His third short film “Joyride” won best screenplay from the Latino Screenwriting Academy and was selected for the Latino Public Broadcasting New Media Production grant, and is currently in post-production. Gómez is currently developing his digital series "Frenemigas".
