Intended Audience: Unity users, game designers, beginner game developers, designers from any discipline with little programming experience
Game Development for Designers 101 is a class covering Unity game development without the need to code from scratch. I will go over my methodology of design and implementation. This will include adding things like audio, level design, UI/UX design, and systems design. I will go over how to identify useful code and refactor it from Unity example projects and tutorials to demonstrate rapid prototyping approaches applicable for the development of any game genre. The idea is to help and encourage designers without programming strengths to learn how to iterate and implement their ideas by accessing design needs, finding solutions, and creating functional examples.
Takeaways:
- Looking at code pragmatically
- Functional rapid prototyping
- Multidisciplinary implementations
- Design solutions
- Refactoring code for prototyping
