The Auburn Avenue Research Library, in collaboration with Hammonds House Museum will host Fair is Foul and Foul Ain’t Fair by Shanequa Gay. Inspired by poet Bill Harris’ Birth of a Notion, with underpinnings in Africana Womanist ideology, this multimedia installation is an eloquent fusion of flawless fine art and fierce social commentary. Serving as both a poetic clarion call to the Black community, and solemn invocation for ancestral intercession. Fair is Foul and Foul Ain’t Fair demands the reclamation of authentic Black culture as an instrument of healing and unity. This exhibition is curated by Tracy Murrell, will be presented in the Cary-McPheeters Gallery. This event is free and open to the public at 101 Auburn Avenue NE, Atlanta, Georgia 30303.
