Such a challenge for leaders! Now that it all happens on virtual platforms, every meeting means talking to a camera, looking at a screen. How do you bring real-life energy to your virtual work?
You’re a decent speaker. Maybe even a great one. People tell you that all the time, don't they?
You know how to connect with those people in front of you, to make sure they listen and understand. That they know what to do next.
That’s what makes these virtual sessions challenging. Meetings on Teams, Zoom presentations, video conferences—they’re just not the same!
You’re used some feedback from your audience. Now you may not hear them. Or see them. You can’t feel that energy in the room. It can seem so flat, even when you know what you’re saying is important.
What if you could create the same connection virtually that you relish during your in-the-room meetings?
Imagine that energy you experience when you meet in person. What if your online presentations, meetings, and conferences had the same kind of juice? I'm here to tell you that's possible.
I spent 25 years talking to “virtual” audiences on the radio. I made such deep connections I still run into people who tell me, “I listened to you every day." Then they launch into a story. "I remember that time when you said …”
The stories they tell about those conversations vary widely. The thread that runs through all of them is this: they experienced a relationship with me, even though we’d never even been in the same room together.
I discovered a lot about connecting with an audience at a distance. And I got very good at it.
I’m going to share that with you in a Salon for Leaders, along with some suggestions to make sure you have the same Executive Presence online that you do in person.
Join me on October 8 and discover the practical steps you can take to bring right-in-the-room energy to your virtual presentations and meetings.
Now, when I call this a salon, I really mean it. This won’t be another webinar. It’s not a lecture. It’s not a performance.
It’s you and me and candid conversation about what works with a virtual audience. You'll have a chance to practice yourself and get some feedback about what really makes you shine.
That means there’s a limit. I can only invite ten people to join me.
I hope you’ll be one of them.
