THE MICROPHONE MISFITZ - The Microphone Misfitz are the epitome of the acronym HIPHOP – Healthy Independent People Helping Other People – their music focuses on the themes of living for a healthier state of mind, uplifting those who are trying to find their path in this world, and rejuvenating the fundamentals of what Hip-Hop truly is in a world that has forgotten the essence of the culture. The Misfitz front-man, D-Nick the Microphone Misfit himself – enjoys the fact that his crew can collectively provide an eclectic performance of all 5 Elements of Hip-Hop: Master-of-Ceremonies (MC), B-Boying (Break Dancing), Graphiti (Urban Street Art), DJ (Live Turntable Scratching), and finally the collective of Knowledge, Culture and over standing. Each member adds their own flavor to the overall Misfitz experience. Kin Solo is the choreographer & movement artist. Ray of Light is the hybrid between dancer & MC. Mel L. is the Graff artist, vocalist, & road DJ. DJ Mar & Mike Knobel (aemka) are the production team and D-Nick is the lead MC, lyricist & artistic director of the group. R.E.A.L. PROGRAM -
HEARTLAND BLOOD CENTER - Stop by the mobile pop-up shop to give blood during the Giving With Heat Campaign. Heartland Blood Centers invites your school to participate in our high school Scholarship Program. Through this program, high school students have the opportunity to help others while supporting their high school. This program is available for high schools who host a blood drive with Heartland Blood Centers. Based on the donations collected at your blood drive(s), your school will be awarded $10 per successful donation. Students DO make a difference. By donating blood, your students will learn the value of volunteering, community involvement, and altruism. They will also discover that giving blood is quick and a simple process. Studies show that people who learn to volunteer at an early age are more likely to make donating blood a lifelong practice.
STICK & MOVE YOUTH CREW - Stick and Move Youth Crew is a youth dance company specializing in breakdance, acrobatics, choreography, popping, and more. Founded in January of 2015 by Jonathan "InLight" St. Clair, the SMYC was designed for children that have a very strong affinity for dance and a very strong desire to realize their potential as an artist. The methodology Jonathan employs was created with the participant's holistic development in mind, so the program is dense with transferrable skills that can be applied across life for their advantage. Though the SMYC is a vehicle where young dancers can have fun developing into thriving professional artists; it's a co-product of the other priority, grooming the participants to be good, well-rounded, responsible, members of society. This way, they are responsible for the attention that their incredible talents will warrant and make good choices as they navigate through their lives.
