We are excited to announce the launch of our youth speaker
series: My Voice, My Power! Through this series, we will give youth a platform to
share their unique voices, gifts, and experiences with other youth.
Our inaugural event in the My Voice, My Power series is
called Being Different Is Ok. At this event an 18-year-old who is neurodivergent and a 9-year old who has hearing loss will share their experiences being “a
little different.” They will discuss
their experiences, including the challenges they have faced. That will also clear up misconceptions about their
conditions.
Each speaker will give a short presentation. Youth in the audience will then have the
opportunity to ask questions. Our goal
is for there to be a dialogue between the speakers and the audience so that
every one can share and learn from each other in a safe environment.
This event is open to youth ages 9-18. Parents are welcome to stay.
