Basketball IQ is the ability to pick up on small cues during play that will allow players to anticipate what’s going to happen next with a higher probability. A high basketball IQ is actually the most important trait to being a great player. This requires deep knowledge of the game and a sharp eye for detail. Elite basketball players are generally great in all areas of the game, not just getting the ball through the hoop. It’s an instinctive quality that some players just possess naturally, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a trait you can’t improve with hard work and dedication. A player with a high basketball IQ that helps the make the most of their skills is going to excel on the court!
How Will We Improve Your Basketball IQ?
In each 30 minute session, we will cover material in 3 Key Phases:
Phase One (The Strategies): The instructor will cover offense, defense, and fundamental skills. Expert tips, strategies, as well as a Q&A dialogue will be executed during this phase. Players and parents alike will have the opportunity to not only, gain the most important strategies on how to play smart basketball, but will have the option to asks questions regarding the material covered, as well as ask any questions that they may have on any topic related to Basketball IQ.
Phase Two (The Homework): At the end of each lesson, players will be given a homework assignment which may consist of a video link to a collegiate or pro level basketball game or player in focus. The homework assignment must be handed in on the following Monday, in which it was given. This will give the player enough time time truly study the material and focus on key bullet points.
Phase Three (The Quiz): The instructor, will follow up with the player on the homework assignment due date, with an at home quiz. The at home quiz must be handed in 48 hours after it has been received by the player. The instructor will then follow up with the player with the results and a 5-10 minute discussion.
