The tools and channels to reach the individual consumer are vast these days - like you could hang a shingle on an online store and legitimately get your first customer within minutes. But, when it comes to building a compelling business, selling to consumers takes intelligence, experimentation, endurance and creativity long before and after that shingle goes up.

Join us on October 26th as we discuss what it takes to market and sell to consumers from day 1. Here are some of the topics we’ll discuss:

  • Identifying your target consumers.

  • Testing an MVP in a B2C business.

  • The marketing implications of ecommerce vs. traditional commerce.

  • Using social media, online advertising and traditional channels.

  • Branding & Positioning

  • Creating different customer profiles

  • Key metrics including calculating customer acquisition, lifetime value and others

  • Managing the customer experience from UX to Customer Service

  • Distribution channels

  • And, as always, how to get it off the ground.

Amanda Moskowitz, Founder & CEO of Stacklist and Nine Naturals, will moderate and lead a discussion with NYC's smartest entrepreneurs about B2C marketing and growth strategies:

  • Josh Hix is the Co-founder & CEO of Plated, a meal-kit delivery service. Plated appeared on an episode of Shark Tank in May 2014 and has grown exponentially since then. They were recently acquired by Albertson Companies for $300 million.

  • Lindsey Andrews is the Co-founder of Minibar, an on-demand liquor and beer delivery service. Lindsey Co-founded Minibar with Lara Crystal, who was VP of Marketing at Rent the Runway. Minibar launched in in 2013 and is now available in 37 markets across the country. They recently closed a $5 million funding round.

  • Lenny Chase is the VP of Marketing at Halo Top, a low-calorie, high-protein, all-natural ice cream brand. Halo Top became the #1 best-selling pint of ice cream in the US this summer because of its high-quality ice cream, its loyal fan base, and use of social media.
