Join Anderson’s Bookshop for an in-person event and signing line with author Joanna Ho to celebrate the release of her picture book Say My Name on Tuesday, October 3rd, at 5:30 pm in our Naperville Store. She will give a presentation, followed by an audience Q&A. After, Joanna will have a signing line where she will personalize and take photos with attendees, if they wish!
Please note that the original time for this event was 7 pm but we needed to move it due to scheduling issues. Your ticket (and the info above) may still list 7 pm, but 5:30 is the correct time!
More About Say My Name
New York Times bestselling author Joanna Ho, of Eyes that Kiss in the Corners, creates a meaningful and diverse picture book about how names define us.
Names reveal generational ties and histories, weaving an intricate tale of the past. Names—and correctly saying them—are important. Each one carries the hopes, dreams, and traditions of those that came before us.
Six captivating kids connect with the reader, proudly celebrating their names, backgrounds, and ancestors:
Hé Xiao-Guang from China
Ofa Kivaha Tupoumalohi from the South Pacific
Bijan Hosseini from Iran
Nizhoni Yazzie, who is Navajo
Xóchitl Luna from Mexico
Akosua Acheampong from Ghana
Joanna Ho’s lyrical story explains how saying a person’s name is the only way we can truly know another.
