Bamboo lanterns are for ambitious lantern-makers who love to build things! We are building original lantern forms with flexible bamboo slats, tape, sticks, plastic wrap, and string lights. Then we are decorating them with colored tissue paper and glue. These take every bit of three hours and you may need to take some paper home to finish. You can combine materials and make a bigger lantern together! Most adults are pleasantly challenged with this project. It is a good parent/child project with a crafty patient kid. It is not so good for young kids. All materials, light, and batteries included. You are welcome to bring a beverage and a snack. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Tickets are per lantern. (ie. Bill and Steve are making one lantern together. They only need one ticket.) Tickets are non-refundable. Please do your best to be on time. Thanks!
The entrance to the parking lot and the Fellowship Hall are on Mell Avenue, the street on the west side of the church. Google Earth shows it. Look for the Lantern House sign!
