Make a Trees Atlanta Lantern and join us for the 7th Atlanta BeltLine Lantern Parade on September 10! Come to the Trees Atlanta TreeHouse, located right on the BeltLine and join us in a workshop to make your own tree-themed lantern for the Lantern Parade. Hold up a light for the BeltLine and the BeltLine Arboretum with Trees Atlanta! Your creative participation is what makes the magic!
We are attaching pressed leaves to 20” green paper globe lanterns! The lanterns attach to a 5’ bamboo pole and have a 3-LED battery operated light, so you can hold up your Trees Atlanta Lantern and dance and walk with us in the parade! Details on parade start and post-parade meet up will be shared at the workshop. We will have plenty of pressed leaves, but you are certainly encouraged to bring pressed leaves from your favorite tree. Putting your leaves between paper in a book with a weight on top for a few days does the trick!
Space is limited to 25. All materials, light, and batteries included. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Parking is limited. Please walk, if you can. If your bike has a rear rack, you can ride home with your lantern! This lantern workshop is lead by Chantelle Rytter and the Krewe of the Grateful Gluttons and hosted by Trees Atlanta at the TreeHouse. Please do your best to be on time. Thanks!
