Art and Science in Conversation: An Evening with David Maisel and Dr. Laura Danly

Join Forest Lawn Museum for a discussion on aerial photography, presented in conjunction with the current exhibition The Elevated Eye: Aerial Photography Past and Present. During the 30-minute talks, photographer David Maisel, a 2018 Guggenheim Fellow in the Creative Arts whose work is featured in the exhibition, will discuss aerial photography and destruction of the environment, and Dr. Laura Danly, curator at the Griffith Observatory, will speak about astronomy and ecology.

A Q&A with James Fishburne, PhD, Director of Forest Lawn Museum and curator of The Elevated Eye will follow.

Refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the event.

The event begins at 4:00 PM on Saturday, January 25, 2020. Free exhibition tours of The Elevated Eye: Aerial Photography Past and Present will be available from 3:00–3:30 PM.
