Join the Philadelphia Orchestra for the city's premier white-tie gala celebrating the birthday of the Academy of Music. The Concert and Ball is the building's only fundraising event, and it helps support ongoing preservation and conservation efforts for the cultural icon. This year's special guest will be Martin Short. Originally slated as the featured guest for the Academy's 159th Anniversary Concert in 2016, which was cancelled due to an emergency shutdown by Winter Storm Jonas in the Philadelphia area, the multi-talented Emmy and Tony Award-winning comedian, writer, singer, and actor joins the Orchestra and Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin for an extraordinary evening of food, friends, music, dancing, and an exploration of the "Grand Old Lady of Locust Street."
