John Hamilton

Special Assistant to the Executive Vice Chancellor/Provost, Former Clinic Director for Partners in Hope, Former Project Manager of EQUIP (Extending QUality ImProvement for HIV/AIDS in Malawi)

John Hamilton has served UCLA for more than 30 years, including positions as an Assistant Dean in the School of the Arts and Architecture and Assistant Provost for campus. For ten years, John was the Director for Sub-Saharan Africa Programs for the CWH. In this role, he was instrumental in creating our collaborative HIV and AIDS-related treatment and prevention programs in Malawi and establishing the highly successful UCLA Internal Medicine Resident Training Program in that country. Living and working in Malawi for more than a decade, John returned to UCLA in June 2017 to take a position as Special Assistant to the Executive Vice Chancellor/Provost. In that capacity, he will directly support the work of the CWH, coordinating and supporting global activities and initiatives for the campus.
