“D.C.‘s albums make up an arrestingly moving body of work. Breathtaking performances of unparalleled beauty... An exquisite repertoire of originals and new discoveries.”
—Will Grega, Allmusic Guide
“Eccentric without being inaccessible and heartfelt without being pretentious, Anderson’s lyrics have made him a favorite of mine for years!”
—David Hurst
When you have a weekly radio show, musicians sometimes send you music in the hope that you'll play it. It isn't always (how do I put this delicately?)—umm…ahh—"good." Occasionally, I like what I'm hearing, but more often than not, I simply ignore the unbidden musical offerings because, even if it is good, it's rarely a good fit for our show. Honestly, submitted music is so seldom usable, that I often don't even listen to it at all and just relegate it to "the dreaded pile." This last week, I got an email from a gentleman who submitted his latest work to me with the hope of some radio play. He piqued my curiosity when he humbly apologized in his first sentence for taking up room in my inbox at all. I couldn't help it. I did the UNTHINKABLE! I listened to his work. It was good. Really good. I mean, the kind of good in which I said, I have to play this on Folk on the Water THIS WEEK. So thank you, D.C. Anderson, for sending your music. I'm not sure if I'm the first to play you on Folk Music Notebook, but I'm sure I will not be the last.”
