If you love experiencing the feeling of going back in time to a different historical era, then you’ll enjoy visiting LA’s Nottingham Festival, which is a Renaissance Festival designed to give locals in the Ventura County area plenty of Old World tradition and fun. This year, on November 4th, 5th, 11th, and 12th, at the Simi Valley Civic Center Park, you’ll have the opportunity to take part in this event and enjoy plenty of laughs and entertainment.
The Nottingham Festival is put on every year by a group of local volunteers working with the Actor’s Repertory Theatre of Simi and the non-profit Simi Valley Cultural Association, who all organize the event. You’ll get to experience Elizabethan England, with its entertainment, shopping, cuisine, stage acts, and street performers, who all offer something that the entire family can enjoy.
Plus, you’ll also get educated while you are being entertained, as other demonstrations include craft workers from guilds showing you how they manufacture their products, cluing you into the lifestyle of 16th Century England. So even while you’ll get to have plenty of fun, you’ll also get some knowledge about the way people lived during this time period.
The Nottingham Festival is a non-profit event that donates part of its proceeds to other non-profit agencies supporting the local community, and also to developing arts programs for children.
Tickets cost $12 per person if they are purchased online and prior to the day you will attend. You can purchase tickets at the box office the day you attend the event for $15 per person.
