As a young child growing up in San Francisco, Samica started singing the songs that she was hearing on the radio to herself. After listening to her Grandmother sing at the temple every week, she started to appreciate Indian classical music along with her American influences, and at age 13 began playing guitar and writing her own songs. Samica relocated to Los Angeles to throw herself and her music out into the world, and has been building a growing following of fans through her live shows and social media ever since. She has received recognition for her ability to merge Indian influences with Western pop and R&B, and her recent mashup of Marshmello’s English language hit “Happier” with his first Hindi single “Bipa” was even shared by the masked DJ/producer himself. Her debut original song, “Alright” released in November as the first single from her forthcoming EP, due in Spring 2020.
