Boston Foodie Tours ("BFT") focus is threefold: our city's rich history, culinary education, and "award-winning best eats", including those of Best of Boston winners, James Beard Award winners, food institutions, and the like.
"BFT" has been awarded the 2015, 2014, and 2013 TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence, and maintains a 5-star guest rating on Yelp.
Boston's Market District, extending three short blocks from Faneuil Hall to the indoor Boston Public Market, incorporates the old and the new. The old includes the 300-year-old Blackstone Block, a 200-year-old outdoor market, the oldest-continuously running restaurant in the country, as well as one founded just a year later! The new includes the new shops and eateries at Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market, and the 2015-opened Boston Public Market, with its nearly forty regional vendors.
While it will be too early in the day to haggle over prices (part of the fun), join us as we visit Haymarket Market, where even Julia Child was known to shop. Next, we'll bring you indoors to the new Boston Public Market, where we'll meet with several vendors as we hear their stories, sample their products, and learn the how-tos of production. Our first stop will need no introduction. Just follow the intoxicating aroma as we enter the Market. Our second stop will bring us behind-the-scenes, where we'll learn about chocolate from bean-to-bar. Our third stop will drive you nuts, we promise! Stop #4 might require an ID. If you're at least 21-years-old, well, bottoms up to you! And then time to go savory with a sandwich that the industry's a-buzzin' about. And speaking of "buzzing", as we wind down our visit to the Market, we'll need to *quiet* down, too, because someones sleeping! No worries, they've - and, yes, there are several - promised to wake up just for us. A little Vietnamese-inspired food from one of Bostons best, and then we'll be on our way to sample iconic chowder at a history-filled restaurant that was founded in 1826. Our tour will conclude at Faneuil Hall, where well visit a successful Shark Tank winner, and enjoy dessert at a James Beard Award-winning American Classics restaurant.
Join Boston's tastiest food tour as we "Stroll. Sample. Savor. Repeat." our way through the city's best eats.
