This story, collected over time was told to Regi by her father, Carl Carpenter about his experience as a young man in the Pacific arena during WWII. It's a war story, a father's story, an American story, and above all else, a love story highlighted by period music.

Regi Carpenter is an award-winning internationally known storyteller, author and workshop leader. Regi is the youngest of five in a small town on the St. Lawrence River in northern New York. She is a fifth generation "river rat" and share the gut-wrenching and glorious tales of a family full of contradictions: religious but raucous, tender but terrible, unfortunate and irrepressible.
