EIZ PhD CONFERENCE FOR BUSINESS MANAGEMENT DOCTORAL STUDENTS IN SADC

Purpose:

This is a unique, practical and empowering PhD virtual conference for business and management PhD students from the Southern African Development Community (SADC). The conference provides a rich blend of lectures and seminars delivering these key topics:

·      PhD Research Proposal

·      PhD Thesis: Introduction, Literature Review, Research Context. Methodology. Results Discussion. Conclusion

Further, the conference equips students with presentation and critical thinking skills by giving them the opportunity to present their PhD research proposal/thesis. PhD students who have not yet collected and analysed data will have 15 minutes to present while those with results shall have 20 minutes. This leads to an additional benefit of getting constructive feedback from conference delegates and session chairpersons. To ensure robust coaching and learning, students will get a one on one 10 minutes coaching and counselling session specifically targeted at their PhD research proposal/thesis.

Target:

·      Individuals in SADC planning to do a PhD

·      First year PhD students in SADC.

·      Second year PhD students in SADC.

·      Third year PhD students in SADC.

NB: To enhance high quality of student-centred learning, the conference shall take only 20 PhD students while a maximum of 70 individuals planning to do a PhD shall be enrolled.

Registration

A.  PhD students who have not yet collected and analysed data

1.   Submit a 15-page PhD research proposal with headings: Introduction, Literature Review. Conceptual Framework. Methodology. Expected Results. Expected Contribution, Reference. Formatting: Font: Times New Roman 12; Double spaced and justified.

2.   Prepare a seven slides power point presentation for your proposed research using the above sub-headings and the seventh slide must only be for your references.

3. Buy the PhD Student Presenter Ticket (£200-00)

B.   PhD students who have analysed their results

1.   Submit a 20-page PhD research thesis with headings: Introduction, Literature Review. Conceptual Framework. Methodology. Results.  Contribution, Reference. Formatting: Font: Times New Roman 12; Double spaced and justified.

2.   Prepare a ten slides power point presentation for your research using the above sub-headings and the tenth slide must only be for your references.

3. Buy the PhD Student Presenter Ticket (£200-00)

C.  Individuals planning to do a PhD: You do not submit anything apart from registering. Simply, buy the prospective PhD student ticket (£100-00)

D.  Submitting proposal/papers and power point presentations

1.     All PhD students to submit their papers and power point presentations via email: eiz.sfs@gmail.com latest by Monday 7 September 2020: Time: 00:00 Hrs UK Time.

2.     Participants to make additional submission of their short biography of maximum 300 words, their ticket details and Skype details.
