Cooking Matters offers cooking and nutrition classes focused on maximizing food resources to community members in low-income areas. With the help of volunteers, we provide hands-on education, combining cooking, nutrition, menu planning, budgeting, kitchen safety and sanitation.
Do you love cooking? Do you love to teach? Do you love to eat healthy? Cooking Matters is seeking volunteer Chef Instructors, Nutrition Instructors, and Class Assistants for our 6-Week cooking and nutrition education courses to share their knowledge and skills with Seattle area communities vulnerable to food insecurity.
Join us at our next Cooking Matters New Volunteer Training to learn more! Trainings are hosted once per month. We ask all interested volunteers to attend this required 3 hour training to learn more about:
- Cooking Matters 6-Week cooking and nutrition class series
- Our volunteer opportunities and expectations
- Cooking Matters teaching methods and approach.
*Please note: to attend this training, all volunteers must have previously attended (or be signed up for) a Solid Ground Volunteer Orientation*
