Lovers of dance theater can experience a real treat this fall with Giordano Dance Chicago’s Fall Series, happening at the Harris Theater stage on October 27th and 28th. Celebrating the 55th year of this dance troupe’s existence, you’ll get to witness history from America’s first jazz dance company.

A Historic Dance Company

Giordano Dance Chicago has a longstanding tradition of entertaining audiences with worldwide performances that present a lot of diversity to capture your interest while inspiring your emotions. To celebrate their 55th year anniversary, the company will be presenting world premiers from Ray Mercer, an award-winning Broadway dancer and choreographer, as well as Brock Clawson, a well-known choreographer from Chicago.

Plus, Giordano Dance Chicago will also be paying tribute to their founder, Gus Giordano, by displaying Giordano Moves, based on Gus Giordano’s own choreography. Also, the company will pay tribute to Nan Giordano’s 25th anniversary as the company’s Artistic Director.

Since 1963, Giordano Dance Chicago has put on worldwide performances while keeping its home base in Chicago. The company has achieved many historic dance events, including becoming the first American dance company to tour the Soviet Union in 1974.

Giordano Dance Chicago’s mission has always been to bring innovative jazz styles to audiences worldwide, hoping to expand the definition of jazz. Also, the company focuses on keeping the Giordano Technique alive, and the dance company has, for decades, received critical acclaim worldwide.
