The popular photo app Snapchat, has made another smart business venture this year, as they signed a multi-year deal with AEG live. AEG has become one of the world’s largest producers of music festivals.
With the new deal, the Venice California based Snapchat will use videos shared from AEG festivals to create live stories and sell ads within these stories. Basically, Snapchat will assemble short videos and pictures into a signature full screen video that will advertise the event on Snapchat. This will be fun for users as they get the chance to be chosen and featured in the Live Stories! The company will also design specific geo filters for specific festivals, which will go over the users picture, that they then send out to friends and family.
It is a win-win for both companies, as both will capitalize on the ad sales. Snapchat has already started working on this idea with AEG as seen in the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and the Stagecoach Country Music Festival in California. Snapchat has already accumulated tens of millions of more views on the idea. The next upcoming festival to be featured is Panorama in New York City July 22-24!
