Why? TED and TEDx are about ideas worth spreading. Attending a live-in-person TEDx event is more engaging than watching the Talks on your own. Besides, you will have a first peek at some of the phenomenal speakers from TED Women without spending the time and energy traveling to Palm Springs, CA. You will listen to the talks and watch world-class performers, with a live audience. Afterward, you can have a meaningful discussion with your fellow TEDx attendees who are known to be creative, curious, and open-minded. You will meet the speakers and have a chance to take lots of great selfies. You might not know the names of the speakers, yet. You do need to know their ideas, now. What? TEDxLakeShoreDriveWomen is organized by Amy Lee Segami and her team. This event is designed to amplify and localize the TEDWomen message across the globe. With "What Now?” as its theme, TEDWomen 2021 will highlight ideas from women around the world. They are imagining new possibilities and exploring new ideas for how we might live and work better together in the years to come. During the event, there will be a mix of speakers from the global TEDWomen 2021 and those with a connection to the Lake Shore Drive community. The program includes Talks, Entertainment, and invaluable networking by Design.
Where? This live-in-person event will be held on Monday, December 6, 2021, at the Mid-America Club. Located on the 80th floor of Aon Center, this venue has a 360-degree stunning view of Chicago, including Jean-Baptiste Point DuSable Lake Shore Drive, along with world-class hospitality. The reception will have hors d'oeuvres and soft drinks. Cash bar with credit card only. If you prefer to stay after 7 pm, you are welcome to patronize the bar and dining room which are located on the same floor.

COVID Vaccination Proof This event will take place at a spacious ballroom in a private business club. All in-person attendees must show COVID-19 Vaccination Proof, physical card, or digital. All guests are required to wear a mask at all times inside the building unless eating and drinking.
Dress Code Business casual. Tie for gentleman is optional.
Registration will be closed by noon CST on the event day. Producing a professional event is costly. Your ticket helps defray the production cost. TED has authorized the admission fee to be $100. TED and TEDx audiences are known to be diverse, interesting, and curious.TEDxLakeShoreDriveWomen offers a group rate of 6 tickets @$50 each. Discount for seniors, teachers, and students @30 each. If you feel generous, you can donate any amount. You will have our everlasting gratitude and help us keep doing this type of event to bring the community together.
Tickets, Tickets Everywhere? TEDx tickets are $100 each to cover the production expenses. The planning team, the speakers, and the volunteers have no monetary compensation. Collectively, we put the event together for the community to connect, interact, and share ideas worth spreading.
Your ticket includes many unexpecTED digital goodies, upcoming limited edition t-shirts, and prefer invitations to more TEDxLakeShoreDrive events, like idea pitch, saloon, and TED Circle.
If you are at the Mid-America Club, you will experience the 360-degree stunning view of Chicago, including Jean-Baptiste Point DuSable Lake Shore Drive, along with world-class hospitality. The reception will have hors d’oeuvres and soft drinks. Cash bar with credit card only. If you prefer to stay after 7 pm, you are welcome to patronize the bar and dining room which are located on the same floor. For online, you will have a larger TED/TEDx community to interact with.
You will receive a QR code on your cell phone on the day of the event for building security check-in; or the zoom link thru email if you attend online. There is a spacious lobby on the ground floor if you arrive before 2 pm. Public transportation is highly recommended. Please use your favorite parking app if you plan to drive, or use the link while you check out.

This type of event usually gets sold out fast. If you can't make it, you can donate your ticket for a student to attend, you will receive ticket karma and help us avoid the embarrassing empty seat situation. Live streaming is another option. You will receive the zoom link by noon on Dec 6.
