Stress and food -- what a topic. But what does that actually mean?
We all live under constant stress. The body was not meant for stress 24/7 and when your body is in fight or flight mode, it does not digest food.
We have all heard the analogy that if a tiger is chasing you, your body sends blood and energy to your limbs so you can run to safety and thus doesn't allow you to digest food.
Although (most of us) don't live in this environment, we do have a lot of "paper" tigers chasing us that create the same issues. Add overeating and combining too many different types of food to the mix and you've got the recipe for a perfect gastro disaster. Some sources indicate that up to 74% of Americans suffer some type of stomach issues. Could this be you?
The good thing is there are measures you can take to reduce stress and protect your digestion -- and that's what we will focus on. This class will offer you tips to improve digestion every day, at every meal.
Join us for a lunch that will delight your senses and awaken your tastebuds. We will also do experiential exercises and have time for your questions.
Menu:
Moroccan chicken salad with sweet potato
Cauliflower medley with pineapple and almonds
Organo mint tea
