Sree Sreenivasan is a leading social and digital media consultant and trainer, working with nonprofits, startups, companies and executives around the world. He has served as Chief Digital Officer of New York City, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Columbia University (where he was a full-time professor of journalism for 21 years).

Sree is the creator of three popular social media learning opportunities that have been attended by thousands of attendees in NYC, several U.S. cities and more than a dozen countries: Social Media Weekend, Social Media Day and Social Media One-Night Stand. In 2015, Fast Company named him one of the 100 most creative people in business, and in 2010, he was named one of the 35 most influential people in social media by the Poynter Institute. In 2014, he was named most influential CDO by CDO Club.

Stephen Goforth teaches multimedia journalism, news writing, reporting, and digital newsgathering. To help students better grasp the move toward digital communication, he authored a textbook titled Media Shift: Journalism in a Connected World. He stepped into teaching after working more than seven years at CNN as an anchor, writer, and producer covering stories such as the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. He shared in the network’s Peabody Award for Hurricane Katrina coverage and DuPont Award for coverage of the tsunami disaster in South Asia, as well as an Edward R. Murrow Award for coverage of the Middle East conflict. He contributed to the network’s Emmy award-winning coverage of the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks and CNN’s post 9/11 coverage, which earned an Overseas Press Club Award. He launched his media career in radio and went on to earn his master's degree in journalism from The American University in Washington, D.C. While in the nation’s capital, he anchored radio network news for Salem Radio Network and worked in a variety of TV positions covering Congress and the federal courts.

Ai Addyson-Zhang As an educator, Dr. Addyson-Zhang connect the dots between technology/social media and education. She believes in using technology to effect positive changes in higher education. Inside the classroom, she teach Public Relations and Social Media courses. Her goal as a teacher is to 1) bridge the gap between education and practice; 2) exemplify what she teaches by walking the talk. She incorporates various social media sites and technologies into her classes as pedagogical tools to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. Outside the classroom, she is a blogger, live streamer, and digital learning consultant. She produces content focusing on the intersection between Technology/Social Media and Education.

Christine Gritmon's mission is to demystify social media for busy small business owners. This is Christine's fourth career: she first spent a decade in consumer packaged goods, mainly large beauty corporations, learning all about branding & marketing. She then shifted gears towards freelance graphic design and local lifestyle journalism, which, in turn, led to a spot in the newsroom at The Journal News. Her natural affinity for personal branding work earned her a promotion to Engagement Editor and recognition as one of Editor & Publisher Magazine's 25 Under 35 (2016) for community engagement and newsroom personality branding work. Christine Gritmon Inc. was founded in May 2016 as a resource for small business owners who need help communicating their message to their ideal audience where they already are: online.

This event was organized by Christine Gritmon @cgritmon. Thank you to this evening's sponsor, Trouvaille Hospitality.
