Southern Fried Chicken Fest Houston

The Southern Fried Chicken Festival is a celebration of Houston’s number one consumed fried dish! The most talented chefs and culinary artists will convene at this event to showcase their creative and flavorful fried chicken master pieces! Houston's best restaurants, food trucks and concessionaire’s serving up crispy fried chicken with all the fixin’s you love!

What can I expect with the purchase of my ticket?

Every guest must have a printed ticket in their hand or digital ticket on their mobile device to be scanned to enter the event with a valid/current ID.

How much can I eat?
Each vendor will offer a $2 sample sized portion of their feature fried chicken dish for tasting. Your mission is to taste from all variations available. You can buy full meals from any vendor on the grounds as they will also be offering their full menu.

How do I purchase both alcohlic and non alcoholic drinks at the festival?

You can purchase drink tickets with cash or credit card from ticket booths with in the festival grounds. You can also pre purchase drink tickets on https://www.eventbrite.com/e/southern-fried-chicken-fest-houston-tickets-33801570407. They will be waiting on you at the will call ticket booth. You must have and be able to show the ID matching the reservation name you used on eventbrite upon purchasing them to claim the tickets. No exceptions and no refunds.

What do I need to bring?

Please bring your ticket or electronic ticket, your ID, cash/credit to purchase Southern Fried Chicken Fest merchandise, vendor merchandise, Fried chicken dishes, hot sauces and such! Bring a blanket to sit on the lawn with. No chairs, coolers, cups or furniture will be allowed into the event.

What happens if it’s raining?

If the city of Houston is having inclement weather and shuts the city down, we have a rain date of September 2nd planned. Same place, same time!

Will you be selling Southern Fried Chicken Fest Houston t-shirts this year?

Yes, we accept cash and credit cards.

What is in the VIP area?

There will be extra tables and chairs for you to sit and enjoy all your food, away from the common walking area with the restaurant booths. VIP will also have a sponsored fried chicken buffet that will be replenished 3 times through out the event time. The buffet is available to all VIP JUDGES PASS ticket holder and also WHOLE SHA-BANG ticket holders. Also a beer and spirits bar with free drinks for the Whole Sha-Bang ticket holders.

Can I bring my kids?
Anyone 8 years or younger may attend the event free as long as they are with a parent or guardian that has an event ticket. You must be 21+ to consume alcohol. All tickets are same price per person regardless of age. For the reason to provide everyone with enough space to enjoy, we cannot accommodate infants and strollers.

Do you give refunds if for some unthinkable reason I can’t make it?
Unfortunately we do not offer refunds. If you have an emergency, please email us regarding transferring a ticket and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Do the proceeds go to charity?
Portion of the proceeds will benefit various charities for colon cancer research and also The Houston Food Bank.

Can I buy a ticket at the door?
Yes, if we are not sold out. We will announce via our Facebook account when we sell out. If not, we take cash and credit card at the gates.

Will there be ATMs at the event?
Yes

Is Southern Fried Chicken Fest accessible for those with mobility limitations?
Yes! Midtown Park is an accessible venue if you are a person who uses a wheelchair or another mobility device.

What about gluten free, vegan or vegetarian choices?
SFCF can not promise vegan, vegetarian or gluten free choices

If I don’t plan to drink or eat, can I get a discount?
We can’t offer any discounts for non-drinkers/ non-eaters, but we will have water available.

Where is the best place to park?
Midtown Park does have parking available in its parking garage beneath the venue but the garage is only open to VIP and WHOLE SHA-BANG ticket holders . There is tons of street parking available, but we encourage you to take public transportation, UBER, Lyft or taxi if you plan to take advantage of your drink tickets.
