More about CORA's KITCHEN by Kimberly Garrett Brown:

Cora James, a 35-year-old Black librarian in Harlem, dreams of being a writer. Torn between her secret passion and the duties of a working wife and mother in 1928, Cora strikes up a correspondence with renowned poet Langston Hughes, who encourages her to pursue her dream. Duty frustrates Cora again, this time when she’s called upon to fill in for her cousin Agnes while she recovers from a brutal beating by her husband Bud.

Working as a cook for a white woman, Cora discovers both time to write and an unlikely ally in Mrs. Eleanor Fitzgerald, who becomes a friend, confidante, and patron, encouraging Cora to rise above what’s commonly thought of as “a woman’s lot.” Yet, through a series of startling developments in her dealings with the white family, Cora’s journey to becoming a writer takes her to the brink of losing everything, including her life.

More About BECAUSE THERE WAS MARGOTH by Jeffrey Hartman

“When something so small as a bit of cash and words of encouragement empower a single woman to embrace her dreams and share her gifts, a miracle occurs. The business prowess emerges, and the fortune becomes that of the surrounding community.” – Margoth

Margoth was a woman who refused to be beaten by the natural circumstances of her daily life. In developing countries, women are often battered, marginalized, and left on their own through ignorance as well as a corrupt system. Children were the worst victims. Often left with no opportunities or ways to escape the extreme poverty of their surroundings, they were forced into gangs and abusive relationships. Until Margoth decided she could make a difference. “Because There Was Margoth” is an inspiring and dramatic story of how one woman, empowered with a micro-finance loan, started a business, discovered her skills, and used her calling and her faith to make a profound difference in her family and communities lives.

About the Author

Jeffrey Hartman is an innovative entrepreneur, speaker, and author with a passion for helping individuals improve their lives through the power of microfinance. As the president of The CareLink Foundation, a faith-based non-profit that distributes microfinance capital to individuals in the developing world, Jeff has helped people launch small businesses in desperately poor regions of the globe for over a decade. Jeff is also the founder of Thirsty Child, an organization committed to eliminating the suffering of children who lack access to clean, safe drinking water in challenging parts of the world.

More About GRAVE INTERVENTION by Shira Shiloah:

Dr. Amir Hadad, a successful radiologist, hears an intruder. Hiding in the dark, the stranger whispers, "I can't rest."

Alarmed and unwilling to risk his family's safety, Amir contacts the police. Only there is no trace of an intruder, no marks of forced entry. If there is a stalker afoot, the police cannot find him.

As the days wear on and Amir continues to hear the same disembodied voice speaking to him, he worries about his sanity. The Irish lilt has escalated from pleas for help to threats unless Amir helps the voice find rest - and revenge.

Inspired by true events set in Naperville, Illinois, Dr. Shira Shiloah takes readers through suspenseful twists and turns in her latest novel. GRAVE INTERVENTION, a paranormal medical suspense, blurs the lines between real and imaginary to expose the hidden side of a historical suburban town.

About the Author

Dr. Shira Shiloah released her debut EMERGENCE, an international bestselling, and award-winning medical thriller, in 2020. Her second thriller, GRAVE INTERVENTION, a paranormal medical suspense, blurs the lines between real and imaginary to expose the hidden side of the historical suburban town, Naperville, Illinois.

Drawing on her unique observations as an anesthesiologist and novelist, she creates authentic characters and true-to-life medical scenes.

Dr. Shiloah received her medical degree from the University of Tennessee and completed her Anesthesiology residency at Northwestern University. Before choosing Boston as her hometown, Shira lived in Memphis, Brooklyn, Jerusalem, Chicago, and Washington, D.C. She enjoys traveling the world with her husband and long walks with her rescue pup.
