In today’s world, it is assured that almost every teen will see images of substance use and abuse on television, in film, in social media and through other screens in their lives. And they are very likely to know other young people who use substances, and many, at some point, may try those substances for themselves. This film and guide is a resource for trusted adults such as counselors, family, friends, clergy, and coaches, as well as parents and extended families, to support young people as they navigate the presence of substances in our society, understand what substances can do to their emotional and physical well-being and empower them to make healthy and informed decisions.
