Path to Spirituality: Reflection, Connection, & Expression
Join us for a unique Ramadan experience of spiritual awakening through mindfulness, art, and food. In a calm and centered atmosphere, we will host 30 special attendees through a journey of mindfulness-based exercises to open up and connect to the heartspace.
Experience Mindfulness
GAMA Detroit Co-Director, Tazeen Ayub, will facilitate our evening, and introduce us to cultivating heart space with creativity. Next, chaplain Kamau Ayubbi will lead us through a process of mind-body-spirit meditation as well as a guided visualization.
Experience Artistic Expression
We will then turn our spiritual attention towards the canvas with a paint night under the changing Ramadan sky led by Malika Ayubbi of Malika Arts, followed by Maghrib prayer.
Experience Taste
After prayers, we will commence iftar with a special ‘mindful bites’ exercise with a two culinary artists, who will lead us through a mindful tasting exercise. They've chosen a special dinner menu that will complement and build to the themes of mindfulness and reflection throughout the event.

Our journey will be held at the Sanctuary of Sound in Detroit, MI (East Detroit). Address will be emailed the morning of the event. We're limited to 30 people only.
Tickets cost $32 and will cover all paint supplies, canvases to take home, 4 paired mindful bites and drinks, and a full dinner.
