Old Jews Telling Jokes began in 2009 as a website — and later a book, Old Jews Telling Jokes: 5,000 Years of Funny Bits and Not-So-Kosher Laughs — created by Sam Hoffman and Eric Spiegelman, featuring videos shot in New York and Los Angeles of foul-mouthed Jewish seniors reciting jokes about sex, marriage, Jewish mothers, doctors, rabbis and their schmeckles. ("What's the difference between a Jewish mother and a Rottweiler? Eventually, the Rottweiler lets go.") Inspired by the viral hit, this stage version created by Peter Gethers and Daniel Okrent stars five actors mixing songs, skits and plenty of similarly randy jokes. This is definitely not your bubbe's Jewish humor, unless your bubbeis related to Andrew Dice Clay.
