 Python Programming (HS + College) – Learn to Code with Confidence!

What: Join us for a 6-session Python program designed for High School and College students. Taught by a Google software engineer, this workshop will guide you through the essentials of Python, problem-solving, and practical coding skills. Whether you’re just starting or looking to strengthen your foundation, this course will help you build the confidence to take your programming to the next level.

Ashwin Balasubramanian is a Software Engineer at Google, where he contributes to projects at the intersection of large-scale software systems and artificial intelligence. His work leverages a deep understanding of Generative AI, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and data intelligence to build sophisticated, data-driven products. He possesses a comprehensive technical skill set that spans the full development lifecycle, from foundational software design and data engineering to the deployment of complex machine learning models.

Ashwin's expertise is built upon a versatile foundation of both industry experience and academic research. His background in full-stack development, using frameworks like React.js and Node.js, is complemented by his specialized knowledge in machine learning with tools such as TensorFlow and PyTorch. Prior to Google, he honed these skills through impactful roles, including a research position at the USC Information Sciences Institute focusing on knowledge graphs and high-performance computing, and internships where he tackled diverse challenges—from analyzing e-vehicle data at Renault Nissan to developing algorithms for clinical trial data at Saama.

A proven innovator and problem-solver, Ashwin thrives in competitive, fast-paced environments. His ability to rapidly prototype and execute complex ideas is demonstrated by his decorated record in collegiate hackathons, where he has secured victories at prestigious events hosted by major names in technology and academia, including TikTok, UC Berkeley, and USC.
Beyond his professional achievements, Ashwin is deeply committed to fostering the next generation of technologists. He is a passionate advocate for accessible tech education, actively mentoring students and sharing his expertise. He has designed and conducted technical workshops on Python, AI, and Generative AI for over 300 students, with a global reach that includes sessions in both India and Los Angeles. Through these efforts, he aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world industry application, empowering aspiring engineers to build their own successful careers.
