Active Shooter/Hostile Events (ASHE) are no longer a matter of if, but rather when and where. Civilian trauma and military combat experience have shown that bleeding is the number one cause of preventable death in victims of penetrating trauma.
The Law Enforcement Casualty Care Course (LECC) has been developed using the principles of civilian trauma care and modern combat medicine to teach basic medical care to officers. This will allow them to act to save their own lives or the lives of others by taking action before emergency medical services are capable of reaching injured officers or other victims. Participants will obtain the knowledge and skills required to control bleeding and provide other vital lifesaving procedures in those critical early minutes of an ASHE.
Note: A First Aid Kit which includes: 1-C-A-T tourniquet, 1-Emergency Trauma Dressing - 6", 1-Compressed gauze, 1-Pr Nitrile gloves, 1-Pr Trauma shears, 1-Instruct-in-a minute card, 1-Permanent marker and basic first aid supplies is available as an option.
