Feeling like a lump on the couch watching Netflix? Looking to try something new? Want to meet some like-minded people? Join Sensei Zach Pizza of NYOK (New York Okinawan Karate) as he leads an evening filled karate and booze- 2 things that pair very well together.
We will start with an intro to Shido Kan Karate-do, learning a few basic movements, a kata (or form), and a drill or 2 to get you moving. Sensei Zach will then demonstrate a little something more advanced. Then, we will cap it all off with a sake toast and chat!
Sensei Zach has been doing karate for over 25 years now (since he was 5 years old). What karate has taught him is that anyone, regardless of gender, sexuality, body type or age, can practice and excel in karate! Zach has spent many years being one of very few (openly) gay karate practitioners and is here to make karate a little more gay!
