Food Stories from DC's Rooftop: An Evening of Storytelling and Perspective Part II

Last month we were transported to South America by way of an artist who trekked across the continent through home kitchens and returned with a cookbook documenting her culinary encounters. The evening's dinner was catered by two local female chefs who also shared the adventures of their business journeys, and finally we met the woman behind the greens that graced our plates as she traced her early food memories that would inspire her to grow gardens on rooftops. If you weren't able to attend our first round, you can still sample a bit of the goodness shared by clicking here.

Now onto the big news: in keeping with our Food Talks theme "Perspectives" - we are excited to present you with another enchanted evening of food storytelling from phenomenal people who are grounding down into the food movement and making strides of their own. We are excited to have two extraordinarily talented individuals for this event: a trained climate scientist + baker, and our other storyteller is a chef, cookbook author, grower + doula! Can you even begin to imagine that? We are saving the unveiling of these tremendous stories for Part II of Food Stories from DC's Rooftops and your seat is waiting for you!

And because there is no better place in the District to enrich and re-imagine the perspectives of food than from the breathtaking view of Up Top Acres, we will be in the same venue on this second round of storytelling. Won't you meet us at The Farm at 55 M Street to overlook our nation's capitol and embrace the many intimate perspectives of food as the sun goes down over rows of mint and kale?

Not to be missed, our featured storytellers will furnish samples of their claim-to-fame delicacies, as Juliet Harris of Nana JuJu Rocks Food offers a taste of her hyper-local vegan cuisine along with a refreshing hibiscus tea. Next it will be our pleasure to nosh on health-conscious bites from Brittany Watts of Nappie Goods . As a sweet conclusion - everyone will enjoy a mouthwatering scoop of ice cream or sorbet from Ruby Scoops. Not to mention we'll have a honey tasting as well - sourced directly from Up Top Acres.

We are the lucky ones who get to live in this exciting time of inviting new perspectives of food -- let's celebrate it together!
