What’s the difference between hoarding and collecting? Well, hygiene, for one, and focus and curating. Basically, a hoarder’s collection of mostly empty pizza boxes and utility bills will never find its way into a museum like The Perot Museum of Nature and Science (2201 N. Field St.). The museum will, however, present Eye of the Collector, nine different people’s collections that range from historical to a little bit strange. Steve Sansweet’s Star Wars collection will be there, which is so great, it’s recorded as a Guinness World Record. Carla Eames Hartman will be there with her PEZ candy dispenser collection. Or if you’re a fan of antique duck decoys, Ron Gard will be there with his. All of this begins Saturday and it’s free for Perot Museum members. For non-members, admission is $24 to the museum, plus the special exhibit. For more information, call 214-428-5555.
