As we continue to march forward into the new normal, the world has discovered that video presentations of concerts can be an equally rich and yet wildly different experience to a live concert. Customized video presentations have many amazing advantages over the live concert experience.

Clearly, live concerts and video presentations are completely different staging and we all know that neither are a replacement for the other. However, video can be understood as a more personal, in-depth experience.

The many advantages of an at-home screening of a concert begin with global access! Simply not having to worry about traveling, parking, baby-sitting, mask-wearing, being out of town that weekend, or concerns about bad weather. Being able to see your favorite performers from the security of your own home in your comfiest clothes, wherever you happen to be on vacation is a bonus! Every seat is a front row seat!

Musical performances are all about sound quality and unique, more personal access to the artist. Musicians can bring their intimate space to the video audience rather than meeting in a neutral concert hall. As a tribute to this perspective, many people tell Corky that “his video concerts are even better than live!”

Internationally known as a one of the greatest harmonica/piano blues players, Corky Siegel is no stranger to Chicago, home of the Blues. From days of Siegel-Schwall Blues Band to the formation Corky Siegel's ChamberBlues, weaving blues and classical genres together. 

He is a Blues Hall of Fame Inductee. He has a catalogue of recordings on RCA, Vanguard, Alligator, and the iconic classic label, Deutsche Grammophon. Corky continues to appear internationally as guest soloist with symphony orchestras including the New York Philharmonic, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Orquestra Metropolitana De Lisboa in Portugal, the Orchestre Symphonique de Montreal, the NHK Symphony in Japan, and the Philadelphia Orchestra with Maestro Charles Dutoit.

He has performed many symphonic collaborations with Doc Severinsen, and also tours frequently with Dr. L. Subramaniam, India’s greatest Eastern classical violin virtuoso: These “global fusion” tours have further featured some of the top names in jazz including Ernie Watts and Larry Coryell. His close associations with the blues masters (Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, Willie Dixon, Little Walter, and Otis Spann) in the earlier days of Chicago blues, his essential part in the blues rock revolution, and his surprising success in bringing together blues and classical audiences make him a pivotal (though stealth) figure in modern music history. 

Sharing the stage with Corky will be Chihsuan Yang, a long standing member of the legendary Corky Siegel's ChamberBlues. A Grammy nominated artist, Chihsuan uprooted to the United States at the age of 15. A native of Taiwan, she began studying music at a very early age. Today, her renowned skill and eclectic versatility with the violin, erhu, and piano can be heard throughout the globe. From playing with Yo-Yo Ma and Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys, to Grammy Award winning Kings of Leon and playing for His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Chihsuan’s body of work spans across a multitude of genres and reaches beyond borders.

Her participation with high-profile projects continues with the original world musical, Sita Ram. In collaboration with the Lookingglass Theatre, Natya Dance Teatre, and Chicago Children’s Choir, Sita Ram earned three nominations for the Joseph Jefferson Awards.

While being featured as a soloist in various recordings, concerts, and symphonies, Chihsuan continues to work and record with a variety of artists and released her debut solo album Ways to Say Hello, a mix of original World/Electronic compositions. Her participation in Writers Theatre's production of "Next to Normal" received a JEFF Award nomination in Chicago. Her original compositions "Aria" and "Hanoi" were awarded finalist at the International Acoustic Music Awards.
