The TED theme COUNTDOWN is a global initiative to champion and accelerates solutions to the climate crisis, turning ideas into action. Lake Shore Drive needed to be part of the conversation.

Countdown. Indeed. There is not much time left. The past is water under the bridge. If you take action today, you can make a difference tomorrow. It takes a village to host a TEDx event. Join TEDxLakeShoreDrive and make a difference.

Lake Shore Drive, LSD, is a scenic route in Chicago, which originated in the early 20th-century American city’s confluence of art and industry. From a carriageway for the rich to architect Daniel Burnham’s plan for a “Paris on the Prairie,” over the decades, it was built farther north and south, linking the city’s commerce and culture. Adjacent to the world’s 5th largest lake, the LSD is warning us of our changing climate; from the 2011 snowstorm to this year’s high water and winds.

Why should you attend an event from near and far? Attending a TED or TEDx event is a very different experience from watching the Talk online. Come join us virtually. You will have the best seat in your house. Get a taste of "Technology Entertainment Design" and take away with some food for thought.

TEDxLakeShoreDrive will present ideas that can be immediately implemented to make a positive impact. The speakers are Millennials to Baby Boomers in industries including food, fashion, and construction. Get the perspective of a futurist, a journalist turned environmentalist, a cooking show host, a founder + CEO, university professors, and a reluctant dad. The entertainment is a saxophonist and a pianist. Scroll down to see the Speakers Section. You might not know their names, yet. You need to know their ideas, now.
